“I don’t have plans for the 4th because [insert white liberal virtue signalling here].” cool I’m gonna go down to the bar where the 80 something year old owner arranges a potluck every year and watch the local punks and queers finish their drag show on bikes because I can understand that while the reason for the holiday can be bullshit, humans still need their little rituals for both pleasure and to build a sense of community. also I think there should be at least two holidays a month and anyone who has to work on them should get double time. but sure have fun with your joyless smug sense of superiority.
